Project Overview:

 

This project revolutionized transportation planning in Qatar by establishing the nation's first Trip Generation and Parking Rates Manual (QTGPRM) and its accompanying software. Crown Consult led the development, delivering a comprehensive solution for efficient and effective transport ecosystem management.

Project Scope:

 

  • Data Collection and Analysis:
    • Reviewed and assessed existing data and conditions.
    • Collated and documented historical data.
    • Conducted a two-year national program of travel surveys, interviews, and traffic counts.
    • Developed a web-based Transportation Data Management System and Traffic Data GIS portal.
  • Model Development:
    • Calculated local travel factors and behavioral parameters for use in Qatar's transportation studies.
  • Software Development:
    • Produced user-friendly software for desktop and smartphones (Trip Rates and Parking Rates Software).
  • Guidelines and Procedures:
    • Updated the Ministry's Guidelines and Procedures for Transportation Studies (GPTS) based on the QTGPRM and survey findings.
