Project Overview:

 

Crown Consult was commissioned by the Western Region Municipality to provide comprehensive transportation planning and design services for Madinat Zayed City, a new urban development in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The project is envisioned as an Emirati neighborhood and lifestyle model aligned with the Abu Dhabi 2030 plan, promoting a high-quality public realm, convenient access to amenities, integrated transportation, and a safe and secure environment.

Project Scope:

 

  • Transportation Planning: Conducted a comprehensive transportation study to assess existing traffic patterns, identify future needs, and develop a strategic transportation plan for the city.
  • Road and Infrastructure Design: Designed the complete road network, including geometric design, horizontal and vertical alignments, signage, road markings, and utilities (stormwater drainage, sewerage, irrigation, potable water, street lighting, electrical, and telecommunication networks).
  • Road Safety Audit: Conducted a thorough road safety audit to identify and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.
  • Stakeholder Coordination and Statutory Approvals: Liaised with various stakeholders and local authorities to obtain the necessary approvals for project implementation.

Key Achievements:

  • Successfully prepared a comprehensive Transportation Impact Study that informed the overall development plan.
  • Secured all required approvals for the design and construction of the road network and infrastructure.
  • Delivered a high-quality, functional, and safe road network that caters to the needs of the future residents of Madinat Zayed City.
